CAR SHARE - AUDIENCE PLEASURES

Peter Kay has been in the comedy entertainment industry for a long time which means he is easily recognisable and subsequently more people will watch the show. Throughout each episode there are many jokes but there is most often one that snowballs through the episode, which is most often the basis for that particular episode. For example in episode two it is the confusion with the meaning of ' dogging' .We as the audience anticipate how a joke may end such as the same joke in episode 2.
Another audience pleasure is the relatable situations the characters are often put through. For example in episode one the sat nav breaks , which may have happened to members of the audience and there for allows them to connect with the characters.
Throughout each episode a fictional radio called 'forever FM' is played ,through diegetic sound, which often plays recognisable songs which the audience can sing along to and relate to the characters who are also singing along. another audience pleasure is the parody of recognisable music videos; in episode two there is a parody video of the song  'true colours'. The diegetic sound also helps the narrative to follow along as it sets the mood of the audience which even though the series is a sit com the music sets a serious and sad tone for the reader  in the last episode of the series .
There is a sense of familiarity through out the episodes as they are all set in the same place and only happen in that one place which allows the audience to recognise the place. There is only one exception to this as in the last episode there is a small scene in a local restaurant to mark the end of the series.
